Air Fryer Hamburgers (Printable version)

Perfectly juicy hamburgers cooked in the air fryer for a quick, healthier weeknight dinner.

# What You'll Need:

→ Meat

01 - 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

→ Seasonings

02 - 1 tsp kosher salt
03 - ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
04 - 1 tsp garlic powder
05 - 1 tsp onion powder
06 - 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

→ Optional Add-ins

07 - 2 tbsp breadcrumbs for extra tenderness
08 - 1 egg for binding if using leaner beef

→ To Serve

09 - 4 hamburger buns
10 - Lettuce leaves
11 - Sliced tomato
12 - Sliced onion
13 - Sliced pickles
14 - Cheese slices
15 - Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

# Directions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and optional breadcrumbs and egg if desired. Mix gently until just combined—avoid overmixing for tender patties.
02 - Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about ¾-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
03 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes before cooking.
04 - Arrange the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving a little space between them for proper air circulation.
05 - Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until patties reach your desired doneness (160°F internal temperature for medium-well).
06 - If using cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow melting.
07 - Remove patties from the air fryer and let rest for 2 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
08 - Assemble burgers with buns and desired toppings. Serve immediately while hot.

# Expert advice:

01 -
  • Way less mess than stovetop cooking with zero grease splatter on your backsplash
  • The air fryer creates this incredible caramelized exterior while keeping the inside perfectly tender
02 -
  • Never press down on the patties while they cook or you will lose all those precious juices straight through the basket
  • The patties continue cooking slightly after you remove them so pull them at 155°F if you like medium
03 -
  • Line the bottom of your air fryer with foil for easy cleanup but never cover the basket itself or air circulation will suffer
  • If your patties are thicker than an inch they will need a couple extra minutes per side
